When Navigator started to be sold outside of home-country Denmark, it was either still called Navigator, a local name (Iceland and USA) or in 1990, when they started to enter the Spanish and UK markets Navision was finally used.
Navigator continued to be the primary name until Navision 3.50 was released. Even the first version of the Windows product had a Navigator and Avista Financials. But after that the Navision brand was used all over.
The mother company PC&C changed their name to Navision Software in 1995.
In 2006 the Navision product name was "shortened" to NAV (pronounced N-A-V) as one of the Dynamics products.
