hiding columns for specific user role

is it possible in NAV to hide item cost column for salesperson. I cannot see anything related to it under permissions set. 

  • Hi. Permission sets apply to tables not fields in tables. Best way to hide columns like that is by using something like User Setup and a new bespoke boolean field. Or create a new page as a copy of the old and assign to user's role centre. Neil
  • It is possible to hide - yes.
    But it somehow has to be done object by objext (page, report, ...).

    Item Cost is represented in several places: Item Card, Item List, Item Ledger Entries, Value Entries, various Sales Lines, Sales Statistics, Purchase Line, Reports - and most certain other places too.

    So it may be a challenge to acheive this.
