    What exactly is that material?

Why do you want to do certification?

Until unless you have NAV installed and developer license, you can NOT pass the exams.

The best approach will be either to attend training  (not sure about the licensing part in this case also)or get a job with implementation partner.......

  • Hmm... The third you might learn from books only, but even that is not easy, especially in case with Nav2009 and three-tier architecture, which is tricky sometimes to set up, search forum and you will see how much problems people have had with it.

First two -programming- by no means can be learned, if you can't practice. (can you expect to learn to swim in an empty pool and hope you would not drown when thrown in water at last?)
Look for some courses, as Raj said - there you will be able to practice, but normally you should be an employee of Partner, that solves problems with Dev license and training materials, you will have senior colleagues who can mentor you, as courses are several days only, but C/AL programming can't be learned that fast.

  • In reply to Modris Ivans:

    Hi Modris,

    Thanks for you reply.

I tried to get chance to work with partner but still not get any success.

I am also tryed to find some training center but as much i know and as per my experience they just teach you just basic syntaxs and i am already working in C/AL and aware of flow and all basic things.

Can you provide me some materials which can help me for exam ?

So, plese guid me what should i do in this condition.

    Thanks,

    Kishor K Bhatt

  • In reply to Bhatt Kishor:

Some of the materials --as Manuals and other docs from install disks-- are available here in Downloads, but course materials from Customer/Partnersource can not be made available publically, it will be copyright violation.

Those are marked Partner Confidential (or "Your use of this content is subject to your current services agreement" for CustomerSource, this is part of what Client gets for annual maintenance fee).

Besides, there is no way to get Dev license, if you are not a Partner, and without it you can't learn C/AL programming.

All this is discussed here many times, we may don't like it, but such is Microsoft's approach, and we have nothing to do but play by rules as they are set.

  • In reply to Modris Ivans:

You can use the developer license in MSDN. This is exactly what MSDN is for.

I can't see what the problem is.

  • In reply to David Singleton:

    David,

Which MSDN subscription level includes Navision dev. license? A quick look there didn't give the answer, but if you wrote about it you might already know Wink

UPDATED: I found it - MSDN Premium

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/lv-lv/subscriptions/subscriptionschart%28en-us%29.aspx

  • In reply to Modris Ivans:

The MSDN license isn't going to let you modify posting routines or really let you go step by step through the dev II course....as far as I know anyway.

  • In reply to Matt Traxinger:

    Dear All,

Thnks for your suggestion and give  your important time for this.

Now One of my friend give me Setup file for Nav2009 and i have installed it in to my personal Desktop.

But without Lic i can't use the Object Designer. i can't  edit , create new table, report , pages ..

I am working on the Version 2.6, 3.7,and 4.0. So i am aware ofthe it's features provided by this versions.

I go through the doc of NAV2009 also but without Dev Licence i can't  create , modified new Page and can't use the new features which is provided by NAV2009.

So, can you people guid me what should i do in this condition.

And i not understand about the what Devid trying to say ? Through that can i work in NAV2009 ?

I am waiting for your reply.

    Thanks in advance.

Several people have already answered you - what do you don't understand?

    Bhatt Kishor
...but without Dev Licence i can't...

... what should i do in this condition....

How many times we need to repeat that:

    - ONLY Partner company has Dev license, no individuals
    - or attend courses, where shortterm license will be available to complete courses (yes these cost money, no free cheese)
    - or buy Navision + all Development granules from MS as client if you have approx $ 30-40K - (theoretically possible, but haven't heard someone did it)

sorry - there is NO different solution. MS gives away freely only what you have already - DEMO installation with DEMO license.

  • In reply to Modris Ivans:

The MSDN license is enough if you want to learn to program in Navision.

If you want to learn how Navision itself works, then the Cronus license is enough.

  • In reply to David Singleton:

  • In reply to Modris Ivans:

Relax, this Singlton is another unreliable source to pay attention. He talks always rubbish. I can imagine how clients (if they exist) suffer from his "makings"

  • In reply to David Singleton:

So Frank, do you know a guy that Calls himself black tiger? Maybe you work with him?

  • In reply to David Singleton:
