Unable to log in to NAV web client

Dear All,

I have configured web client in my Server but while logging into web client i can login with the same user with Windows Authentication whereas I can't log in using UserName authentication.

The error is

You do not have access to Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Verify that you have been set up as a valid user in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

whereas there is user in Users list. I can also log into NAV windows client with same credentials.

While checking in Event viewer, the error is:

Server instance: DynamicsNAV100
Tenant: <ii>default</ii>
<ii>Session type: Background
Session ID: -1
This license is not compatible with this version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV.</ii>

Thanks,

Suman

  • Have you setup your user with database server authentication in sql?
  • In reply to Harikiran BM:

I have installed NAV in three tier and I can run windows client with same credentials but why can't I run web client with same user name and password?
  • In reply to Suman Maharjan:

If its possible to open for you using windows authentication but not using user id and password means you need to add the user in sql for its related database.

    In SQL server,
Go to security -> logins -> newlogin -> Choose SQL Server authentication in general tab -> specify password -> In user mapping, select for which database you need this authentication click ok.

Give the membership as db_owner for this newly created user in the database you are trying to access.

But I can use Windows client with Username authentication with same user name and password. How can this be possible?
