  • Platform updates overview - 3.70.B - NAV2009 R2 (UPDATED 5)

    waldo
    waldo
Oh my .. I had to go through about 250 updates to compose the next version of this list. Seems that too much time has gone over - my bad - my apologies. It seemed that Microsoft found some old KB articles in some old dusty corner of a worm-eaten closet as well .. which made me skip quite a few of old stuff, because (imho) they were not interesting enough. On top of that, someone found a new way to let people pay attention to certain KB articles by just adding some of them twice :-/. Anyway .. the new version is here. Enjoy!     Version Update Build No. KB number Info NAV2009 R2    32012…

  • Intervat 8.0: Mind the namespaces! (5)

    waldo
    waldo
Here's another update for Intervat 8.0 for an inconsitency in report 11307 regarding the namespace. These have been defined as text constants and these text constants have been translated, what caused the output with BE-FR (FRB) language have a wrong namespace . How do you fix this? Remove thee textconstants: Text014@1010004 Text018@1010002 Text019@1010003 Text020@1010005 Add a global variable: DocNameSpace@1010003 : Text[50]; Make sure that everywhere in the document, Text018 is replaced with DocNameSpace . Before: LOCAL PROCEDURE AddHeader@1010007(...); BEGIN INTERVATHelper…

  • Intervat 8.0: Mind the phone numbers! (4)

    waldo
    waldo
Sorry to bother you again with this, but there seems to be something wrong with the current update for Intervat 8.0. No, read my words carefully: there seems to be something wrong. In this case, it's totally intervat's responsibility, as they seem to have miscommunicated the wrong XSD. It's about the phonenumber in the xml-file. It should not contain any special characters, only numeric. But if you look at their xsd, it mentions this:       < xs:simpleType name = " PhoneNumber_Type " >             < xs:annotation >                   < xs:documentation > A telephone number </ xs…

  • Statement of Directions for NAV '7' Updated!

    waldo
    waldo
There is a new only-19-page Statement of Direction published by Microsoft for Dynamics NAV '7'. This document exists (as Paul White states in the movie that is part of the download) for sharing with the customers .. and has been designed to make it readable as well .. . That's a big difference with the previous one .. which included much more details, but wasn't that "readable" (others call it "marketing-fluff"). I already blogged the first version of it, so see it as an update - or may be better: read that post if you want more details of some points ;°). First of all, it states the release…

  • New Senior Product Manager Dynamics NAV - Kurt Juvyns

    waldo
    waldo
A few weeks ago, a very good friend sent me a message: "Arrived in Happy Station". A smile came on my face, because I just knew this was very good news .. not only for him .. but also for NAV.. It's about my good friend Kurt Juvyns . I really started to know Kurt in the early days of the Belgian Dynamics Community back in 2008. We were brainstorming what we could do for the Belgian NAV people .. and he was the one that had the nerves to aim high - and motivated us that we can do it. So we did.. :-). I once described him as "A community person in "heart and kidneys" " in one of my blogs…
