  • .Net Interop: Using the Parent to get to the Child (Using Enumerations Part 2)

    waldo
    waldo
If you haven't read the first part of this article, I recommend you do so now. It's been a while ago since I promised you the second part of the article. Sorry it took this long .. As you noticed .. there were other things to talk about ;°). We are trying to use enumerations in a more attractive way than writing something like this: enum BasicHttpSecurityMode.Parse(enumBasicHttpSecurityMode.GetType(), 'TransportCredentialOnly'); Parsing .. GetType .. not all that logical if you're used to C/AL. Not simple .. and we're all into "simplicity", right? So, together with my colleague Bart…

  • Directions EMEA 2011: Final thoughts

    waldo
    waldo
I always try to "wrap up" a convention that I visited .. and I will do so now as well for Directions EMEA 2011 in Berlin .. or at least I'll try try. The location This time, it wasn't in a warm city like Barcelona, or a romantic city like Prague .. but it was actually in a city full of history: Berlin. I never visited the city, so what I did was: I flew to Berlin on Sunday before the conference, just to take a look at this city .. you know, the Wall, the War, .. the Berlin history is quite interesting. I biked for two days through Berlin, and here you have some impressions.. : Walking…

  • Belgian Dynamics Community - Annual Event

    waldo
    waldo
A lot to blog about, lately .. so difficult for me to make up what is the best timing to blog about stuff. I felt like this subject was quite urgent, as Thursday is already the "big evening" of the Belgian Dynamics Community : our Annual Event ! This year, we'll have a keynot of "Saskia Van Uffelen": ICT Woman of the Year. And if that isn't interesting enough for you .. We'll also have 3 parallel sessions from our Diamond Sponsors .. . If you remember my previous post about the Directions EMEA announcements: Equisys happens to be a Diamond Sponsor of the BDC, so will be speaking this Thursday…

  • Directions EMEA 2011: Microsoft Dynamics NAV Announcements

    waldo
    waldo
This is the end of quite an exciting week for me .. . People have been asking me: "Hey Waldo, why haven't you been blogging about Directions ?? We count on you, boy!". Well, besides of the fact that I'm really starting to feel much too old for being a "boy" .. I must say that I just was too busy during Directions. But finally I found some time to blog about it .. and I'll do that in a few parts, because there is just too much to share (anecdotes, nice to know, experience , announcements,...)! This blog will be about (probably for you) the most interesting part: the announcements that Microsoft…

  • Directions EMEA 2011 (bis)

    waldo
    waldo
Normally, I would never write two posts about the same topic .. at least not this close after each other .. but Directions is really just around the corner, and there are a few things that were updated and worth mentioning. Microsoft@DirectionsEMEA Microsoft really takes this opportunity to promote their product .. in some unofficial channels, I even heard they find Directions (US and EMEA) one of the (if not the) most important conventions for NAV. And they really prooved that by creating some small "things" on the Directions Website: Microsoft@Directions EMEA . They even created a video…
