Techdays Sweden 2010: 3-people showup
waldo
Like you can deviate from the title ... the session was not really the most popular session from the event . 1700 people .. you literally had to walk over people here to get somewhere ... so busy conference ... and then .. only 3 persons in our room (with 6 concurrent sessions). I had to start with the introduction. I asked two questions: who knows NAV: all three hands rising (oops). Second question: who is a developer: NO hands rising (oops 2). We had a session prepared for DEVELOPERS who DIDN'T know NAV (which you might expect on a TECHdays where NAV was never part of the schedule). So, about…

Techdays Sweden 2010: Preparation day
waldo
Yesterday when I arrived at my room, I was instantly confronted with "Swedish Logic": Luckily my room number is 433 (.. so now all the nice-looking-Swedish-girls-out-there know ;°) ). After a good night's sleep, we started finishing our presentation. Actually, we decided not to work with a Virtual PC and install my laptop with the necessary demo's ... so that's about what I've been doing today. Downloading about 3 versions of Visual Studio (and installing all fo them), getting the demo's to work ... . Afterwards, we attended a session about WCF ... and I can tell you one thing. It…

Off to TechDays (Sweden)
waldo
It's funny. I'm in the plane right now, off to Sweden to present a session about NAV 2009 Development together with Mark (Brummel) ... you know, the ponytail from the Netherlands . Why funny? We have the exact same event in Belgium in a few days ... . But in Belgium .. no Dynamics NAV whatsoever on the conference. 3 days of technical info .. super interesting .. but no Dynamics NAV. On the other hand in Sweden, there IS NAV content. Not much (we're it, actually ), but at least there IS. I think (I'm not sure though) we're pioneers in this. (Oh my god .. I'm looking out of the window and everything…

Platform updates overview - 3.70.B - NAV2009 SP1 (UPDATED 3)
waldo
As you can see, I updated the list dramatically thanks to the Platform-updates-page on partnersource (thanks wito :-) ), where Microsoft started to publish the same list as I am doing for quite a while now. I did this to have a complete the list for you to search in. Furthermore, there is a NEW cumulative platform update for version 5.0 Sp1, like you could have read on Partnersource and blogs (like this one ). After downloading it from the Product Download Page (I downloaded the BE version), I noticed the update was a 833Mb zipped file ?!? This is no normal "update", this smells like a Service…

NAV 2009 Reporting: Document Map
waldo
Here is a new blog entry about a feature that comes available thanks to the RDLC we can use in NAV 2009. Called "Document map". A document map is a navigation feature that you know form PDF. In some PDF's you can browse to the chapters in the document. Something like this: In Microsoft Word 2010, if you use the Header-formats, you get this out-of-the-box: You can use this in your RDLC-layout as well. It works with groupings . A group-title (if I may call it like that) is some kind of "title" of a certain group of data. You can compare it with a title of a paragraph in a word or pdf document…
