My first full year (January-December)of writing on my blog has passed. When I saw this post on the "NAV Developer's blog", I just thought: "hey, that's a good idea to end this year of blogging. Let's make an overview of my blog as well". And here it is. I was quite surprised with the result. Never expected it to be this many posts .
All there's left for me is to say: Merry Christmas and a Happy (NAV) 2009!
Development & SQL Server related stuff
Announcements & Useful info
Other (rather unuseful stuff)
A while ago, I posted a blog about the SQL Server 2005 Runtime license. Well, recently I received the news that Microsoft created a Runtime License for SQL Server 2008 with Dynamics NAV as well (available from 1st of Januari 2009). If you have access to partnersource, you can get more info here. There you can find a FAQ-PDF, which explains a lot.
Important to know is that there is 64-bit support now (when there was none in the previous version) … and it's the same price then the 32-bit version. It's even on the same CD.
I have the impression that the "restrictions" and pricing is quite the same as before, but please, get yourself properly informed before you're starting to sell the Runtime license! Just know that it has become a lot more interesting now, because of the 64-bit support .
At the latest Convergence EMEA (Copenhagen) some MVP's were asked to be (video-) interviewed by Bruce Kasrel, a Community Leader at Microsoft. Not knowing what this was going to be, I just accepted and waited it out.
I must say: weird experience . If you want to see the result though, here is my video. Enjoy ;°).
If you want to see the other Dynamics NAV interviews, here they are:
