Cumulative Update 23 for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central April'19 on-premises (Application Build 14.24.46857 Platform Build 14.0.46844)
This update does not require database conversion from previous version, and there is no known security vulnerabilities fixed in this Platform version.
This BC14 April 2021 update is again quite small one. There is no new objects and only one new field in this CU, and it concentrates mostly on small prepayment adjustments and email management changes.
Changed objects in BC14 CU23
SEPA payment export now has two message fields to recipient instead of one.
Overall, it seems that BC14 is reaching its maturity state, and there is not much fixes applied anymore. I have not been installing new BC14 versions lately, and all of the development is moving rapidly to extensions and AL language. BC14 does not seem to get all (or any) the awesome features that can be seen in the online version, so maybe this series of TearDowns is reaching its end. I will not say this is the last one, but I think I may have to blog about something else every now and then.
Hi Urpo,We upgraded to CU22 last week, so I enjoy your blog posts on the topic. And I agree that BC14 is not receiving many updates anymore. But that's not the same as saying it's mature. We still find relatively many bugs in it, including one preventing us from installing it on Windows Servers with latest DotNet Core updates already installed! And that error exists in all versions.
Thank you Erik for your comment, this is much appreciated, since it has been really quiet on my comment list!Checking now the two later CU's, it seems that you are correct, thre is again more things changed in the later updates. Perhaps MS had just been concerning on BC18 release and that caused the silence on BC14 front. That DotNet Core issue is really a nasty one, it makes one extra step when old installations are moved to new platforms.
