  • Dynamics NAV 7 Beta | Error when upgrading

    Marq
    Marq
When upgrading from a previous build of NAV7 beta to the current build you might get this error. It occurs after the conversion of the database. For some reason this field is changed from length 252 to 504. To solve this you must manually change the length to 504. This can only be done via SQL and the table should be empty. • Dynamics NAV 7 (2013) | Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Required

    Marq
    Marq
Today I had to install NAV7 Beta as a preparation to an upgrade project from NAV6 when I got a strange error that SQL 2012 could not be installed. It did not say why, and after some investigation I found the exe file to install SQL2012 manually. The reason it errored out was the missing SP1 on windows 2008 R2. After that the installation went perfect. Hopefully this small blog post will be the first in line of more while doing this upgrade project. Goal is to go live in Oktober. Cheers.
