Today July 6th. 2016 Microsoft announced two new brand names may have to get used to: Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft AppSource.
Microsoft writes that Dynamics 365 evolves the current CRM and ERP cloud solutions into one cloud service with new purpose-built apps to help manage specific business functions, including: Financials, Field Service, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Project Service Automation and Customer Service.
Ever since Project Madeira was announced in April, Microsoft have kept quite about what is going to be the real name. Project Madeira is just the “preview” name.
According to MSDynamicsWorld.com, then there will be two versions of Dynamics 365: Business (for SMB businesses) and Enterprise.
Without knowing more, then I would guess that Dynamics 365 Business is Project Madeira, whereas Dynamics 365 Enterprise is Dynamics AX’s new SAAS solution.
Except for a lot of “smart” marketing, then the new website doesn’t really have a lot of information about what Dynamics 365 actually is or how it looks. So we may still only guess.
AppSource is the “App Store” for Microsoft Dynamics. Where you can download and try Extensions and other apps for Dynamics AX, NAV, CRM and Project Madeira, plus PowerBI, Office 365 and Azure. Nothing surprising but looking great.
I’m sure that we are going to learn much more about this next week when Microsoft will be announcing more information at the Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC).
