Difference Dynamics CRM and the CRM module of Dynamics AX

No link,  but some opinion as I know both solutions:

the main differences are in the use of connected/disconnected features, native integration with Outlook and the way you will handle some processes, specially regarding Sales Orders Management and Service:

Basically, you will be able to cover the functional scope of Dynamics CRM with AX CRM Module (Opportunities, Activities, Quotations, Sales Orders, Service Agreements, ...) but the way you will use it will vary: AX will be preferred if you want to share data and if the needs let you plan potential extension of scope to other areas (or if they are already used), while CRM will be easier to customize and more "plugged" to the MS Office suite. 

For mobility:

• CRM (online or on premise) is natively integrated in Outlook thanks to the "Dynamics CRM Outlook Connector", but also offers a pre built "mobile view" that will rule the way information is displayed  on mobile devices. You then can easily synchronize your contacts, emails, agenda, tasks and have a light SQL database copy that enables you to work disconnected.
• AX will offer native synchronization with Outlook too, but you will need you to install some add on for the mobile devices (by today).

MultiCompany and Sharing of data

• As it is an ERP, you will find in AX a higher integration with information with other modules, specially Finance, Stocks, and if relevant Project, Service,...with a real time view of the transactions.In CRM you can reproduce this with small setup or interface with external systems
• AX will offer the possibility, through setup of "virtual companies" to which you attach some tables, to share data through several companies, while in CRM , by today, data should be duplicated and synchronized from an organization to another.

Campaigns:

• Both products offer advanced tools to build the distribution lists and to distribute them.
• Both Products offer tools to build questionnaires
• Both products offer response analysis tools

Service:

• both products offer contract management and service description, with follow up of requests and Cases Management
• AX will have deeper integration with item database and products that you may need for some service contracts
• both products will offer Case Management

Opportunity management

• both products distinguish the "leads" from other types of prospects and/or customers
• both products manage activities around opporunity management
• for duplicate detection, you may use virtual companies in AX to extend the detection at a group level by deciding to share the Global Address Book, but it is rarely done.

another point to take into consideration: type of ressources needed to customize the system 

• AX will require X++ skills to be customized while CRM will use .Net and related components

Dynamics CRM software are approximately  cheaper than AX .Dynamics CRM is also available in a browser or any mobile device like iPhone, iPad, Android.

Is the CRM module available in AX 2012?  I don't see it - I only see it in our 2009 version
