We have a grid that has more than 20 columns that users need to always be able to see on the production floor. They are loosing the focus on certain data when they had to scroll up and down and left and right. They are asking to see if there would be a way to freeze some columns on the left side of the grid when scroll to the right so they still be able to relate the data right most columns with the frozen columns on the left side of the grid. Any one has any idea if there is a functionality in AX that help us to freeze the columns or any work around?
No, there isn't.
There is a reason why UI patterns discourage grids with many columns and instead support other ways (such as a grid accompanied with a right panel with fast tabs, where fields are grouped in a logical manner and users can collapse things they don't need at the moment).
