(Other than creating a new model with similar references and moving files physically to the new model's location).what can be done without affecting the base layer?
i tried changing the layer code in descriptor file in the model i have created. it changges to VAR. but how to check whether the base layer doesnt changes to var only my customizations should move to VAR layer.. any suggestions pls
What do you mean by "the base layer? If a model is a certain layer, all objects in the model are in that layer.
But note that layers are important only for overlayering, which you shouldn't use anymore, so they become largely irrelevant.
Ok Thank You Martin.I am also trying to do using extensions instead of overlayering.
Base layer is the source layer(here ISV).
ex: i have same forms in isv layer, when i tried to customise(adding fields, etc) the forms, done as it is so both were in isv layer, so now i want these customizations(elements which i created newly) only in other (VAR) layer. Is it possible?
Sorry, I don't understand. What do you mean by "to customize"? Creating an extension? If so, layers are virtually irrelevant. But if you want to have your extension in VAR layer, simply create a new model (and package), select VAR layer in the dialog and then create your extensions in this model.
