Here on DUG we welcome all bloggers with blogs with unique quality content about Microsoft Dynamics.
As a DUG member we offer to host your Dynamics blog here on our website. You blog will then be located together with the other blogs, in the user group for your Dynamics interest, example http://dynamicsuser.net/ax/b/your-new-blog
You are able to change and customize almost your blog almost like any other WordPress blog, except we just don't have as many different themes. But if you want, then can start today, with the default theme. Then we can help change it, so that it feels more like your own page.
Higher visibility than other Dynamics blogs on Google: If you are blogging about Dynamics, then your blog is just one among a lot of other websites. Users will have much easier be able to find your blog post, if they originate from a domain already known by Google to have high quality "Microsoft Dynamics" content. Your pages will in most cases be displayed much higher on the search results list on Google.
Higher visibility than other Dynamics blogs on DUG: Most of the blogs here are "mirror blogs", not hosted by DUG, but on a "parent" site. But blogs hosted on DUG receives higher visibility via more views, likes and comments, than blogs where you need to go to a different website to comment. Each comment or like, is an activity that get your blog highlighted on our site and group pages. Additionally some of your best new blog posts may be featured in your user group's banner.
Easy spam handling: Spam is an issue most bloggers know too much about. Especially if you have allowed users to comment on the blog anonymously. That was very common just a few years ago. Today that's almost never seen, as it attracts spammers in large numbers. Even though our spam moderation features are very advanced, then there may still be coming spam. But our setup makes it very easy to deal with. We recommend against allowing anonymous comments (even with captcha on). Instead your readers use their DUG account already, and most in the Dynamics world have one already (+150,000 registered accounts).
Read more about dealing with spam on DUG's website.
DUG Leaderboard points: Whenever you blog that they and their comments earn you community points. Just as posting forum posts and replies, and most other contribution to our user group does. That goes both for you or your visitors. Their comments on your blog also earns them points in your user group.
If you already have your own blog on a different domain, that you would like to keep, then we can still include your blog, so that it will displayed to our members and visitors in our user groups, forums and blog pages. It will be part of the user groups "blog roll" - where your blog posts are imported into DUG via your current blogs RSS feed.
It just takes a few minutes to setup, just send us your DUG username (if not done directly from the site) and the blog feed RSS to the webmaster.
If it's a new blog you like to start, then instead you should send us the name of your blog, a short description (catch phrase) and a little longer "About Blog" description. Then we'll set it up for you. Questions to be asked primary in the forums.
Most of the same "benefits" of having the blog hosted by DUG applies, but in lesser degrees as "native" blogs.
Higher Visibility on DUG: New posts and any likes directly on the post on DUG gets the blog higher visibility. Doesn't get the effect of comments, as they are generally not allowed on mirrored posts. Only after special agreements (have to be replied to by the blog owner).
Additionally you blog post becomes part of the DUG search index, so when our members search on our site, then your blog will also be included in the results. And in the related information in the different sections of the website. So if one of our members asks a question about something you just blogged about, then your post is also displayed as related.
Our members may easily subscribe to your blog, using their member account. And your posts (selected number per day) are included in the User Group daily and weekly email digests.
Most importantly then it means that the blog posts are unique and of the blog owners own making/copyright.
A copy of Microsoft or other companies public announcements or web page content, is not unique content.
DUG may remove blogs with posts which our members and management think is more advertising, sales and marketing or direct spam or abuse, than actual helpful information about Dynamics. DUG has a zero tolerance when it comes to spam. Accounts are banned or closed if it happens more than once (and only once if you are a new member).
