AX presales activity

Hello,

I need your valuveble inputs on certain issues during the Pre Sales activity in AX please share insights from your wide experience base.

1.During a Pre Sales Session with client, how can we convince a client  who asks us " If i ( client) get AX 2009 implemented now at this stage i.e. at the end of 2010 what if a new version is released on 2011 and how will i benefit...?" So please suggest any thoughts and inputs to convince a client at this stage.

2.Please do share any valueble inputs like statistics on AX OR any other advantages or any other data that can be used to convince a client during a pre sales session .

3.If possible do share any PPTs available via links or any.

Cheers

I do pre-sales - but in most of the demos i didn't faced this kind of question - may be the customer is more specific about their requirement.

When a new version comes there wont be any vast changes in the functionality - some additional features will be provided.

Any way you are there to do the up gradation as partner - The next version may be released in First Quarter 0f 2011(which was to be released in 2010 ending)

May be in March or April not sure - In India the financial year starts then - you should be able to convince the customer if we start implementation now - by the start of the next financial we may run the system parallel or live(It again depends on the size and requirement) - and you can make use of the system and meanwhile we will be able to complete the upgrade and training on the new version. Thats what my way of looking.

You can search in partner source for that.

While searching for something I bumped into this thread.  I have come across the above many times in the past.  I sell this as a big trump card. As long as AX is implemented as per standard (including following strict development standard), upgrading to next version of DAX is relatively straight forward.

Also MS have put considerable investments to ensure that product upgrade goes through smoothly. In fact compared to product upgrades to DAX 4.0, the upgrade routines to DAX 2012 are much more mature and sleek.
