  • The Anomaly of the XMLport Request Page

The user interface of the XMLport has always been somewhat of a black swan. On the classic platform it was absent and you had to work around it yourself. With the emerge of the windows client (RTC) we did get a request page as one of the incentives for us to start adopting the 3-tier technology. And...

  • NAV 2009 RTC: Hang while calling FTP server

I have developed a function in NAV 2009 R2, which first creates a script with the FTP commands and then a CMD file which calls this script. Not very different from the script found here: http://techblog.byllemos.com/2009/06/uploading-a-file-with-ftp-from-navision/ Running the function in NAV 2009 Classic...

  • Dynamics NAV RoleTailored Client

Until the release of Dynamics NAV 2009 there was only one client available on the Windows platform. After the release of the Dynamics NAV 2009, Microsoft introduced the RoleTailored Client. • Memory usage in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 print preview

Periodically we receive requests where customers asking us about RTC print preview consumes all available memory and computers hangs. Repro scenarios are more/less similar: run report, click preview, go per pages up/down, close report. Run another report, click preview, go per pages up down and…...

  • Is MESSAGE halting my process?

Only this week I found out that we lost some standard behavior of the MESSAGE function, on the road to NAV's new 3-tier architecture. Anybody noticed? CONFIRM vs. MESSAGE Most probably you know perfectly well that a CONFIRM and MESSAGE are functionally not quite the same. One has a Yes and a No button...

Don't get too excited, you won't be able to design objects in the RoleTailored client with this tool.
