• Re: Upgradation

Hi Subrata, I would always take the new version. Only if the version had been released with a few months, and it had been a major upgrade, then I would consider taking the previous version. So to your question, then I would NEVER upgrade anyone to a version 4.0 as this version is almost at it's end...

Hi Erik, Thanks for reply. I think the number series 14000350 onwards is for Lanham's EDI. Following are the few objects in the database: 14000350 EDI Template 14000351 EDI NAV Tables 14000352 EDI NAV Fields 14000353 EDI Document 14000354 EDI Segment 14000355 EDI Element 14000356 EDI Fields 14000357...

  • Re: Upgrading with EDI/E-Ship

Hi Dhan, It's not much different from upgrading any other Navision solution. The best place to get information about the Lanham EDI Solution is to contact Lanham in Atlanta. But you only say that the database is "having EDI add-on" - but are you sure that it's Lanham's EDI solution...

  • Re: Problems after upgrading to NAV 5.0

The forms are called directly from the menusuite. I have solved one of the problems, I had MODIFY in the OnValidate and CurrForm.EDITABLE(FALSE) in the OnAfterValidate. After removing these statements I do not get the error "cannot be modified in this screen". One solved, one to go.

  • Re: Upgrade from navision 4.0 to 5.0
Use Navision developers tool, to merge Nav 4.0 modifications to Nav 5.0. It will reduce great deal of manual work (depends on the quantity of modifications ofcourse).
I would any day recommend you to use Per H. Mogensens Mergetool - you can find it in the download...

  • Re: Problems after upgrading to NAV 5.0

The problems occur on a form which we made ourselves, with on of our own tables. Both in the 50000-range. They have not been changed after the upgrade, still exactly the same as in 3.60. In one of the forms I get the message "myRec cannot be modified in this form". Using MODIFY and/or COMMIT...

  • Re: Problems after upgrading to NAV 5.0

A lot has changed since NAV 3.60, many things which was possible in that version is not possible any more (often it is undocumented features or direct errors which has been removed). So could you come up with a little more information. Does this happen on standard functionality or customized functionality...
