  • Confused: NAV 5.0SP1 vs. 2009

Hi folks, well, I'm somewhat confused. As you might know, with 5.0SP1 MS has introduced several "enhancements" regarding NAV/SQL performance. Just to name some: VSIFT Cursor Preparation Buffered Inserts Changed Cursor types etc. Some/Most/Any (?) of those features is supposed to be in NAV...

  • Re: Different versions of native DB on one server possible?

Thanks for your reply. I think I will just give it a go on our test server to get some experience with the procedure. I already thought that it would not be a problem, but a bit of reassurance is always nice. B.t.w. No I did not really want to install another 4.0 DB, I'd rather install a NAV2009...

  • Re: Navision Upgrade

Hello everybody, Since the company I work for is running NAV 4 sp3 on a native database I would like to know shat a preferred upgrade path to Nav2009 on SQL would look like. First upgrade to SQL, then to NAV 5 sp3 and then to Nav2009? Or is there a shorter way? On the Convergence in Copenhagen someone...

  • Re: NDT for NAV 5.00 sp1

The toolkit gets confused by the database when it is created by 5.0 executables. You need to create the toolkit database with 4.0 SP3 executables, and from there you can import objects from any version, although I don't know if it knows about NAV 2009 page objects. I know it's stupid, but that's...

  • Re: Writing reports out of SQL

In NAV2009 you would still create a NAV report object to create the dataset, and then you'd create the report layout in any RDL tool you want to use. SQL Server just comes with one for free (with the actual editor in Visual Studio), so it would make sense to use that one. This is only for NAV reports...
