I downloaded the updated client crm iso from ms website and this installs fine until it gets to the point where it says you must have .net 1.1 and .net sp1 installed, but vista has .net 2.0 installed and everything i read says i obviously dont need 1.1 as 2.0 is on it. however the installer wont go past...

Trust the computer! Computer is your friend. .NET 1.1 and 2.xxx are very different (unlike 2 and 3). So you read wrong, CRM 3.0 is built on .net 1.1 and you really need it to run.
