Hi All,

Scenario:

I would like to see a balance of an account for a specific period of time. I would then like to drill down on this period and see the transactions that make up the balance only.

Sounds very simple.....

However, my investigations have found only one way that i can get the information and that is by the Ledger Transaction Report. I would like to be able to do this via an online enquiry instead.

I've investigated the Trial Balance option and set the Parameter to the specific period however this only returns the balance. I thought that by pressing the Posted Entries option that it would show me only the transactions for the period. Unfortunately not. It shows all the posted entries against the main account.

Fact Boxes again provide the balance but not the capability to drill down.

I'm sure that this functionality is standard and it's just my own knowledge but i'm at a loss to find the functionality. Anyone out there know of another way?

Financial Statements, Management Reporter, Excel Add-In are indeed options however it's preferred to find an online option, within AX and doesn't need setup.

Thanks All

See if this helps

  1. Go to the chart of accounts, select the account and click on the balance button
  2. Select setup
  3. in the from date to date field, specify the period in question and click ok (Balance of specified period is shown in the balance field in the chart of accounts)
  4. Select the balance button again
  5. select transactions on balance (this shows the transactions for the balance of the specified period

You can drill down to original documents of transactions of so required

let me know if this works

cheers
