Hi

Currently implementing Ax into a glass processing company in UK, the change required from paper, limited technology and business systems (Costing and Accounting only), this comany has  taken a massive step in september 2012 into a new culture and business methods by implemeting Ax 2009: CRM, Sales, Costing, BOM development, Purchasing, Master planning, The full production suite including SFC, Data Capture suite.

The main tasks at the moment are

1) Developing Stock accuracy, by improving stocktake process

2) Developing more accurate costing using BOMs and SFC to capture the real cost of manufacturing

I have joined DUG as I am interested in understanding more of the mechanics of the fuctionality of Stock Management. example.  Why when you start a works order Ax places physical stock into On hand stock even if it is not manufactured or reported as finished.  This is having a knock on effect when we are trying to make a counting journal, as it is showing on hand, I am trying to accurately work out what needs to be counted in stock take.

Any help will be gratefully received

Steve
