Hi

By allocation Terms you automatically allocate amount to different accounts and dimension,

there are 2 way for allocation, one is you define in chart of account for a account you want allocation,

E. G. you have say an electricity expense account and every month you want to allocate electricity expense to different Cost Center then you can define that rule in Allocation term. At the time of posting system will automatically allocate the amount to different accounts or dimensions. this only works with

The other is generated allocation- Where amount is already  posted into one account and you run allocation rule from periodic and allocate the amount based on the rule defined.
