A client is using Dynamics 5.0 with LS RETAIL 5.0. Currently, scheduler jobs are being run round the clock at the main server and statements has been setup to auto post at the main server using the batch scheduler.
The problem is there has been few occasions where a mesage box pops up, describing that the scheduler log table was locked and without someone to acknowledge the message, other jobs being scheduled are not triggered because of the message box.
Also, there was another occasion when a backup was made on the server. When this was done, the scheduler server and the batch posting scheduler both hangs and a message box display something like 'Cust. Ledger Entries are locked. please wait till the resource is free'.
Does the simple action of backing up causes tables to lock and prevents scheduler jobs and the batch scheduler to hang because of the tables lockdown?
Appreciate any view, and if possible, better ways to handle the current situation.
