Hello!

I work in a company (in Portugal) with 1450 users.Currently we have one AS400 reaching the limite in upgrades.

What do you think about using NAV for support ou business? We have seen a demonstration in Navision 3.7

Thanks

Hi,

Welcome Portuguese companion. Big Smile
In Portugal you have several references of Navision in large companies. Navision has good support compared to other products.  Related to support the most important is selected partner. Partners are to one that should give you direct support. There are good partners and bad partners.

Navision in Portugal is in version 4.0 SP3. In January it will release version 5.0 of Navision.

When you talk about 1500 users you are referring to concurrent users in same server? Can you describe a little more your business? Retail, etc.

Hi Joao,

Welcome to the user gorup.

I would first ask the same questions as Nuno. It's important to know if the 1450 users are all in the same legal company. Or if they are in subsidiaries. This way Navision will see each legal company as one group, performance wise. I have worked in a company where we had more than 500 concurrent users in the same company (I think we were around 1000 users in the same database). That system partly replaced a SAP installation.

I can recommend you to check out this thread: http://dynamicsuser.net/forums/p/19046/87458.aspx

Also I would recommend you to wait until NAV 5.0 is released. With a release day in January, this of cause should not be a problem. A company of the size of yours will not be able to go live before anyway! But version 5.0 has been optimized a lot when it comes to performance on SQL Server (at least this is what Microsoft says).
