Our client is a large corporate with offices across the globe.  They require a dedicated and dynamic Sr Developer to add value to their organisation and systems.

 

Role Objective & Key Accountabilities

 This is a senior role where a large requirement of this job will be to provide consultancy and ERP best practice guidance into the business.   The primary responsibility for this role will be the overall management of the Navision ERP environment end to end.  They will need to quickly be able to define design approaches and provide development guidelines from ad-hoc users requirements. As a standard they will need to be able to configure the application appropriately and document and manage technical specification for specifics business projects. Daily they will need to collaborate and confer with functional business analyst and end users to understand requirement in order to appropriately develop, modify, customize and install Microsoft Navision ERP application software to ensure project specifications are met. They would be required to confer and co-work on a regional and global scale with project managers, business process analysts, technical integration teams and other developers. ·         Develop, modify, customise Navision Dynamic Microsoft ERP application software·        Participate in the evaluation and analysis of business requirements, and assist in defining design approaches, development guidelines and requirements and software configuration·         Write and maintain program code or modify existing programs to customise software to users needs·         Will be responsible for testing and debugging application code errors when hot fixes are needed to optimize the performance of the ERP·         Consult & confer with end users and functional analysts to gather requirements. Co-work with project managers to ensure smooth project roll out and availability of environment resources, and confirm customization goals are met.·         Proactively work on a global scale with other technical teams, project managers, business process analysts, technical integration teams and other developers, to establish software requirements and ensure project specifications are met·         Day to day management and performance monitoring of the Navision ERP Environment·         Manage all release into the Navision Production Environment·         Manage Navision Releases-          Decide release content-          Inform Business Owners of Release-          Get release signoff-          Implement Release-          Conduct release Review-          Maintain Release Notes-          Document the release procedure·         Manage External Developers-          Conduct bi-weekly sync-up with external vendor-          Review Code for quality of solution.-          Inform vendor of practise/policy change·         Investigate P1 helpdesks cases and Batch job failures-          Fix where appropriate·         Delegate to external developer if necessary 

Candidate Profile

 ·         A passion for quality and continuous improvement of processes and software·         Strong debugging skills and the proven ability to quickly understand other developers' code·         Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, follow development standards and to work independently·         Strong analytical skills·         Commitment to team play·         Clear and effective communication skills·         A good command of written and spoken English·         Education or working experience on bachelors/masters level·         Basic project management skills·         Being familiar with SQL in various DB server environments like Oracle, MySQL etc. ·         Good programming skills in Vbasic, Java, Java script, asp, DotNet, C#·         Good understanding of business processes and user behaviour ·         Good UML knowledge; process to application design in UML·         Good MS-SQL administration / management skills·         Very good abstract thinking and excellent conceptual design skills·         Excellent Object oriented programming skills in C++  

Career History

 Background or business knowledge within Finance or Supply Chain Management  

Skill Set Required

 ·       4 years+ Navision development experience (Navision version 4) with an ability to plan, design, develop and document software·       1- 2 years with Microsoft Software development; o        Object oriented programming; o        Microsoft X++ & Morphx technologies 

Qualifications

 ·         Fluent written and spoken English·         Degree or equivalent in Software development or Computer sciences & appropriate professional experience·         MS Software development qualification a distinct advantage
