I wanted to wait until I received some pictures, but I won't. I'm a little bit too excited about the outcome . Thursday night was the big evening. We (Luc, Ludo, Kurt, Patrick, Rodrigue and me) had put a lot of work in it. We had been taking care of: A nice location, called "kasteel van Brasschaat" (castle of Brasschaat): http://www.kasteelvanbrasschaat.be/ Professional audio and video (thanks Tom Costers!) I am writing the "final thoughts"-posts because it seems interesting for me to have somebody's general idea to conferences like this. They are not cheap, so you should be planning them as efficient as possible. Anyway... What did I expect from Directions EMEA? Actually not very much. It was the first time in Europe for not that big of an audience: about 300 attendees. First time is always challenging, because you just don't know how the audience reacts, expects, ... . When I was...
I hadn't put this on my blog yet, but people asked me to give a presentation about Hardware on Directions EMEA 2008. I never did something like this before, but I immediately accepted. And I must say, this impulsive decision has caused me quite some headaches and stress lately. Anyway, it's a challenge, it involves some work, but the satisfaction (if you do a good job, off course ) is great. So, Thursday was the big day. After a month of intensive preparation, I was ready to give my presentation...
It seems that I'm not going to blog this directions. It's a bit akward for me, being able to sit, not type, just easily follow the sessions... . Different, but nice. Why aren't I blogging? Not because I don't want to, but because there are two bloggers present. Kriki is here as well. First time I meet him, and we definitely get along . We wanted both to follow the same sessions (we are both pretty technical), so we would be writing both the same. We agreed that he takes the honours...

Finally found some time to write Part II of this topic. The first part was quite a popular post, if I may say so myself . I didn't expect this. I just prepared an internal developer meeting at my company about "how to use the FIND statements", as I noticed that things are sometimes misunderstood. I just prepared the meeting by creating a blogpost ("two flies in one hit" ). Anyway, time for my kids to put asleep a bit earlier, so that I have some time to talk about some other...
Yesterday, I got the message that my MVP-title has been "renewed". I must be doing something good . Once again thanks for all the support, comments, interest, reading my blogs, ... . I said it before and will keep saying it: it's you guys that keep me going for searching and writing (hopefully) interesting blog content. Not easy, but interesting . By the way ... I got the message that Mark Brummel got renewed as well - congrats, Mark !
