This blog is all about the many years of experiences I have had with Navision.
re: Dynamics NAV 5.0: a revolution?
reg Map point Integration: You need to set this up in Administration - App Setup-General-Online Map Setup. But I am missing there the integration with Mappoint and there are just URLs for Local Search. reg Export to Word/Excel - not just data from the form can be exported, but you can use other data too... wait for my preview.... :-)
Have they start using the new error capturing function in their code, for example Batch sales Orders, Or MRP? Have they optemized any tables for sql?
Hi Ahmed, I didn't look in great detail, but I think that NO is the answer to both of your questions.
What I heard is that the new error capturing is used in Cost adjustmen batches preventing the batch to stop after first error.
I want to correct my previous post. The GETLASTERRORTEXT is used in Outlook synchronization module and in RIM module. That's what I have found yet. The adj. batch is skipping errors without using this function.
I am interested in Jobs. Want to know whats new in Jobs.
In my opinion the changes in costing are good for start.
I checked a few tables for SQL-optimizations: -T17:nothing I noticed. -T21,25:some SQLIndex that is different from the Navision Key but I think they don't make much sense. Some SIFTLevels on date (only year and month but I would rather take only day) -T32:there is something, but it can be a lot better. -T36,37,38,39:these are definitly optimized and I think they did quite a good job (you can still optimize some things given a certain customer with his DB). For example they create a new index "Document No.,Line No.,Document Type" and made this one clustered.
David, Thank you for taking the time to share this with all of us. Have you had a chance to look at changes in Service? Rumor has it that you will finally be able to post partially completed service for a service order. Thanks
About sql optimizations; can you see any differences in the table Document Dimension? Thanks for all the info; it exciting times :) /Daniel
The dimension tables have still the second key Maintained in SQL. So no differences yet. But I think they are still working on some tables to optimize them. And these can be some of them.
Hi David,
Im a big admirer of your work in Navision. The W1 version was launched not too long ago and we are still running through it.I must say the document approval has been much requested by many of our clients and it is great to see it....now if they could only come up with a nice way to do a complete Cash Flow....

Nick, thank you so much for your kind works. Its wonderful that you feel this. :)
I tend to agree that Document approval has a feel of being just a starting point, but at least it is moving in the right direction.
again thanks
Well as you read form Kamil Saceks Blog, dynamicsusers.org/.../default.aspx we now have
